What is an Aircraft De-Ice Control Valve?
De-icing is critical to safely fly a plane when icy conditions are prevalent. The de-icing system on an aircraft is activated when there is sufficient buildup of ice on the wing(s). Aircraft de-icing control valves help manage the system when it is not in use by venting system air, and blocking venting during the airplane’s de-icing process. Ultimately, the mechanical system is run by the control valves to ensure ice breakup on wings.
