PowerUP Magnetos: Built for Precision and Longevity

With PowerUP aviation magnetos, you have a choice between a new PowerUP magneto with 100% new content, an HP Premium Magneto Overhaul Series, and a PowerUP Value Overhaul. 

New PowerUP

A direct replacement for standard aircraft magnetos, the new PowerUP comes with a one-year warranty as well as a proven track record with no ADs or Service Bulletins. These brand-new aircraft magnetos come with engineered design improvements including internal components, impulse coupling, coil, block and gear, capacitor, and breaker points. In general, these are a more cost-effective option compared to other market options.

The HP PowerUP Premium Magneto Overhaul Series

This overhaul series comes with a one-year warranty. There are three non-wear parts that have been inspected to new part limits, as well as a two-piece frame/housing and rotor. All the other parts are replaced with 100% new PowerUP components including impulse coupling, coil, block, capacitor, breaker, and gear.

The PowerUP Value Magneto Overhaul Series

The value overhaul series includes all wear components that have been replaced with PowerUP parts only. All the other parts in these are inspected by the ICW Overhaul Manual and replaced only on condition with PowerUP parts. These aircraft magnetos come with a valued price and a six-month warranty.

An ignition harness is a crucial component of an aircraft’s ignition system that delivers high-voltage energy from the magneto to the spark plugs. It ensures proper electrical connectivity and distribution, enabling efficient combustion by igniting the fuel-air mixture within the engine’s cylinders.

The most notable update is the spring design in that the PowerUP ignition harnesses incorporate a negative-pitch spring design that allows the coil spring tip to lie flat against the spark plug electrode. This means that the tip of the coil spring extends inward and provides 360-degree contact. This all maximizes ignition energy and minimizes flashover. 

The PowerUP ignition harnesses also have replaceable contact springs, which saves you money and time when needing to complete field repairs. These harnesses use a tinned-copper, nickel-plated braid shielding that significantly reduces the EMI, helping it improve performance. A flexible 19-strand conductor of stainless steel wire only enhances the in-wire conductivity and the ease of installation.

Finally, the PowerUP ignition harnesses are abrasion and heat-resistant thanks to the abrasion-resistant red polymer cover. This cover was specifically engineered for the high-temperature environment of reciprocating engines.
