PowerUP Aircraft Ignition Harnesses

PowerUP Ignition aircraft ignition harnesses are FAA PMA-approved for Continental Motors and Textron Lycoming engines. Designed for reliable ignition energy delivery, reduced EMI, and durability in the high-temperature environment of reciprocating aircraft engines, PowerUP harnesses incorporate a range of engineering improvements over standard harness designs. Hartzell Aviation is the factory-direct source for all PowerUP Ignition harnesses.

Key Features

Unique Spring Design

  • PowerUP aircraft ignition harnesses incorporate a negative-pitch spring design where the tip of the coil spring extends inward, allowing it to lie flat against the spark plug electrode and provide 360-degree contact. This maximizes ignition energy transfer and reduces flashover to a minimum.

Plated Steel Nut

  • Steel nuts provide superior strength compared to aluminum nuts and reduce the potential for galling during installation and removal.

Performance Plus Shielding

  • Tinned-copper, nickel-plated braid shielding substantially reduces EMI. Combined with a highly flexible 19-strand stainless steel wire conductor, the design provides strong wire conductivity and ease of installation.

Abrasion and Heat Resistant

  • An abrasion-resistant red polymer cover is engineered specifically for the high-temperature environment of reciprocating aircraft engines, providing long-term protection under demanding operating conditions.
