PowerUP overhauled magnetos combine the best of serviceable and new parts to deliver OEM quality at an overhauled price. With the industry’s largest supply of high-quality Bendix dual magneto cores, stringent inspection criteria ensure only top-performing parts are used. When your PowerUP overhauled magneto is delivered, it looks and functions like new, ready to be installed on your aircraft’s engine. All overhaul work is performed by Hartzell Aviation MRO.

PowerUP Internal Component Improvements

  • Improved capacitor design: Internally grounded lead for improved durability. Square insulator and stud base, less prone to over-torqueing during installation.
  • Improved coil design: Thicker insulation allows for a higher spark output. Thicker lamination plates on the top and bottom resist deformation during assembly.
  • Improved breaker points: Clamp-up force applied to the metal frame instead of plastic. Improved spring eliminates point bounce. Together, these methods reduce point drift over the service life.
  • Improved block assembly: Arc suppression ribs added to the bridge in the high-tension carbon brush zone, reducing misfires. Geometric asymmetry prevents incorrect installation.
  • Improved distributor gear: Made from Monel for superior arc erosion resistance. The electrode is heat-staked to the shaft and hub for mechanical stability.

Bendix 20 & 200 Series Aircraft Magnetos

Bendix/CMI (formerly TCM) 20-series magnetos are impulse-coupled only, while 200-series magnetos incorporate the “Shower of Sparks” system. Both are available in 4- and 6-cylinder configurations. A complete line of PMA replacement parts, overhaul service, and 500-hour inspection capabilities is available.

Bendix 1200 Series Aircraft Magnetos

Bendix/CMI (formerly TCM) 1200-series magnetos can be either impulse-coupled or “Shower of Sparks” configuration, in both 4- and 6-cylinder versions. A complete line of PMA replacement parts, overhaul service, and 500-hour inspection capabilities is available.

Bendix D2000/D3000 Series Aircraft Magnetos

PowerUP is the only OEM providing new manufactured and service parts for D2000/D3000 dual magnetos installed on thousands of Lycoming engines. PowerUP overhauled dual magnetos are high quality, using a combination of new parts and an FAA PMA-approved housing. Supporting more than 25,000 owners of engines equipped with the dual magneto, PowerUP delivers a magneto with numerous key improvements over the original D2000/D3000 design:

  • All-aluminum frame replaces the original magnesium frames last made in 2010. The aluminum frame is stronger, longer lasting, and far less likely to crack or corrode.
  • All-new distributor block and gears. Thousands of these parts have been installed, with tens of thousands of flight hours accrued over the past 20 years.
  • All-new coils, condensers, and contact points.
