Overhauled Exchange Alternators

Plane-Power factory-overhauled alternators are available on an exchange basis with a core charge, offering a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new. Every unit goes through a thorough reconditioning process and is rebuilt with new brushes, diodes, bearings, and other critical components. All overhauled units are built and tested on the same equipment used for new alternator production, so you get the same quality at a lower price point. In some cases, overhauled exchange units remain available even after new production has ended, making this the best option for supporting older aircraft electrical systems.

Applications

Prestolite Style

Prestolite originally developed this alternator style, but Plane-Power has continued to refine and improve the designs. These are widely used in legacy OEM applications. Many are PMA-approved as identical, direct-fit replacements for the OEM part numbers.

ES Series

The ES Series was developed internally by Plane-Power to provide customized solutions for OEM applications, as well as new PMA-approved alternatives to Ford, Chrysler, and CMI/Crittenden units. ES Series aircraft alternators are OEM-approved for a range of general aviation applications, including piston aircraft, single-engine turboprops, and single-engine light jets. In addition, lightweight/high-power-density ES Series alternators are seeing extensive use on UAV applications.

ASG Series

ASG Series alternators were originally developed by Aero Electric and are OEM on several Cessna applications and PMA replacements for out-of-production 24V Ford alternators. The ASG aircraft alternator designs incorporated several improvements over the Ford alternators they replaced.

Jasco Series

Jasco alternators were originally developed by Skytronics to support legacy aircraft, supplanting older generators. There are several STC generator-to-alternator conversions, as well as PMA-approved aircraft alternators for many aircraft with vintage engines.

Ford

In addition to offering overhauled versions of our products, we also overhaul Ford. We have PMA’d new replacement components for these brands. These go through the same process as our own products and meet our rigorous quality standards.
