Continental Aircraft Starters

Sky-Tec manufactures lightweight, direct-drive starters for all major Continental aircraft engine applications. Every Sky-Tec Continental starter is engineered to deliver high spin speed and low back-drive torque, helping prevent kickbacks and, where applicable, protect the Continental starter adapter. Models are available in 12V and 24V configurations across a range of Continental engine families, including O-200, IO-360, TSIO-360, IO-520, IO-550, and related engines.

Models

PowerLite Series:

Lightweight direct-drive motor with ball bearing design for low internal friction and heat. Low back drive torque to protect the starter adapter.

PM Series:

High-torque direct-drive motor. Fast spin speed helps prevent kickbacks. Low back torque to protect the starter adapter.

Energizer Series:

Heavy-duty direct-drive motor. Fast spin speed helps prevent kickbacks. Low back torque to protect the starter adapter.

ST5:

Gear-reduced starter delivering strong starting torque for Continental engine applications. Features an integrated Kickback Protection System (KPS). Available with STC kit options for push-button start conversions.

ST2:

Gear-reduced starter with proven durability and self-resetting kickback protection. Fast cranking rotation for easier, more reliable starts. Available with STC kit options for push-button start conversions. Two-year factory warranty.

ST2/S:

Solenoid-actuated variant of the ST2 featuring an integrated starter solenoid for engagement and disengagement. Designed for applications requiring a conversion from pull-cable to electric push-button start. Available as a complete STC conversion kit.
